Original British Civilian Gas Mask Private Purchase Carrying Tin 1940 Dated with inner liner. These were available for Civilians to buy in shops - rather than the standard cardboard box which did not fair well in the rain.
It is in good condition and has a 1940 date on the base and instructions on the inside of the lid. Please see photos.
