In 1930, Amy Johnson made aviation history as the first woman to fly solo from Croydon (London) to Darwin, Australia, piloting her Gipsy Moth aeroplane, “Jason.” These charming badges were originally produced as commemorative souvenirs and were also given away with sheet music for the immensely popular song of the day, “Amy, Wonderful Amy.”
A superb piece of early aviation memorabilia — celebrating one of Britain’s most inspiring pioneers.
