We have been lucky enough to buy a number of parts from a WW2 Allied horsa glider and this is your chance to own a real piece of what is such a rare plane! All of these pieces need a good clean and will come up a lot better.
The parts were gathered together many years ago and were going to be used as master parts to reconstruct a glider for a museum display… The project was never started and they are now for sale.
This type was used extensively in Normandy during the D-Day landings and then later during the landings in Holland to carrying troops into action. More than 3,600 were used during WW2 - yet very few of them exist today.
The group includes a number of very recognisable parts. Some are from the wooden framework, there are metal sections, levers, ramp parts, hooks, bolts and pins - as well as other interesting bits. It would appear that the main body has been on fire at some point as most wooden sections are charred black.
