A textbook original set that has just come into us from a veterans family. He was an engineer in the British Army.
According to his grandson, the previous owner of this belt buckle had held a bayonet to his grandfathers back before surrendering to his fellow engineers. He decided to take the young mans belt and buckle as a war trophy. Just an interesting bit of history from the family!
The belt has been folded in a drawer in this position for years and is supple enough to open and close but would need some leather feed to roll up again.
It is a classic Hitlerjugend belt buckle by RZM M4/46 Wilhelm Schroder and could do with a bit of a clean. It measures around a 34" waist.
