A nice original example of a German DAF work book showing work of one person. We have a few books newly into stock in varied condition and with varying stamps, stickers, signatures inside. We haven't photographed every page as there are too many but we have done the more relevant ones.
A nice original WW2 display item.

The “Deutsche Arbeitsfront” (DAF), which translates to “German Labor Front,” was a National Socialist labor organization founded in Germany during the Nazi regime. The DAF was founded in 1933, shortly after the Nazis came to power, and it served as a mechanism to control and mobilize the German workforce in line with the ideology of the Nazi regime.

The DAF had several purposes and functions:

1. **Centralization of the workforce:** The DAF was set up to bring all German employees and workers under one organization, regardless of their profession or industry. The aim was to create a sense of unity and solidarity within the working class and to mobilize the workforce for the economic and political goals of the Nazi regime.

2. **Propaganda and ideology:** The DAF was used as a platform for Nazi propaganda, spreading ideas about National Socialism and the importance of labor to the German nation. Workers were encouraged to identify with Nazi ideology and to believe that their work helped strengthen the German Empire.

3. **Working conditions:** The DAF was also tasked with regulating working conditions and enforcing labor standards. This included setting wages, working hours and other employment-related matters. This gave the Nazi regime control over the labor market and working conditions.

4. **Trade Unions and Collective Bargaining:** The existing trade unions were dissolved and absorbed into the DAF after the Nazi takeover. The DAF functioned as a kind of 'union' under the supervision of the Nazi regime. It suppressed genuine labor protests and strikes in favor of state interests.

The DAF played a significant role in the Nazi labor and propaganda system, but it must be understood within the broader context of the Nazi regime's totalitarian control of all aspects of society.
