A nice original British WW2 ARP officials gas mask in its original cardboard box. The straps are complete and this model was made of a slightly heavier rubber than the standard civilian issue ones.
It is in good condition except for a small area of perishing to the rubber (shown) and it is dated 1938 on the mask. Also of interest are the ARP Instructions label on the side of the box indicating that this was issued in the Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch area.
This is ideal for a collection as a WW2 home front variation of what is a common gas mask. Or as an example for talks - or simply as part of a demonstration of wartime kit.
